The Oasis - Mrs Everill 2025 - 2026

Welcome to

Our Enhanced Mainstream Provision is called The Oasis and provides a bespoke curriculum for children with Special Educational Needs. 

In The Oasis, you will find myself, Mrs Everill the class teacher. Mrs Skerritt, Miss Brown and Miss Bailey are our teaching assisstants; alongside so many adults, you will find a group of lovely children who are excited to learn in our adaptive classroom!

Provision:

In The Oasis, we will have a variety of activities on offer that is suitable to each individual child's needs. We follow a bespoke and tailor made curriculum to ensure that each child meets their target grades and is working at an appropriate level to suit their ability.

Our activities are chunked and last for around 15 minutes to engage the children. We will also be completing lots of learning and activities through play and creativity to ensure that the children are focused. After we have completed our input and activities, we we then do some recording in our exercise books, where will continue to work on skills such as number and letter formation and our pencil grip.

Throughout the day, we take many sensory breaks, which include yoga, time in our Sensory Room and time outdoors. We aim to keep the children as occupied as possible whilst ensuring that the curriuclum coverage is vast. 

In The Oasis, we also bake and cook a variety of recipies, take trips out to new environments and have some focus on life skills to prepare the children for life outside of the classroom.

We cover all subjects, including Geography, History and Science and make our lessons interactive and exciting! Each half-term we will have a topic and overview! All of our activies and provision will be centered around our topic! For example, in Autumn 2, one of our topics is 'Celebration' where will look at a range of 'celebrations' around the world. Dojo - As a school, we use class dojo to communicate with our parents. Please feel free to send a message via dojo and I will endevour to get back to you. Please keep a close eye for regular updates, messages and pictures about what is going on in our classroom via the 'Class Story' section on dojo, this provides you with lots of information.
