The Oasis - Miss Barry 2024 - 2025

Welcome to

Our Enhanced Mainstream Provision is called The Oasis and provides a bespoke curriculum for children with Special Educational Needs. 

In The Oasis, you will find myself, Miss Barry the class teacher. Miss Lear, Miss Brown and Sol are our teaching assisstants; alongside so many adults, you will find 6 lovely children!

Provision:

In The Oasis, we will have a variety of activities on offer that is suitable to each individual child's needs. We follow a bespoke and tailor made curriculum to ensure that each child meets their target grades and is working at an appropriate level to suit their ability.

We work on a carousell of activities, where the children will complete around 3-4 activities per lesson. These activities will be chunked and last for around 15 minutes to engage the children. We will also be completing lots of learning and activities through play and creativity to ensure that the children are focused. 

Throughout the day, we take many sensory breaks, which include yoga, time in our Sensory Room and time outdoors. We aim to keep the children as occupied as possible whilst ensuring that the curriuclum coverage is vast. 

In The Oasis, we also bake and cook a variety of recipies, take trips out to new environments and have some focus on life skills to prepare the children for life outside of the classroom.

Please keep a close eye for regular updates, messages and pictures about what is going on in our classroom via the 'Class Story' section on dojo, this provides you with lots of information.
