Welcome to Year 3!

In Year 3, you will find me (Miss Barry) along with 30 lovely boys and girls! We are lucky to have the support of Mrs Tagell!

In Year 3 you will learn to become independent, responsible and positive learners. The transition to Key Stage 2 is an exciting opportunity for children to flourish and learn lots of new skills. We enjoy creative and exciting lessons, we like to use the outdoors for our learning. To assist children with this transistion, we encourage parents and carers to be involved with the next steps of their child's educational journey. We encourage regular reading at home and ask that children's Reading Records are signed to communicate with us in school how their home reading is going, this will also instill a love of reading. We ask that parents and carers help their child to learn their weekly spellings and complete a small piece of homework. During this academic year, we believe that it is important to adopt a positive and close relationship with parents and carers to ensure that their child and themselves are happy and feel a smooth transition into a new Key Stage.

In Year 3, we aim to 'have fun whilst we learn', we are a team and we pride ourselves on always trying our very best. We always embrace new challenges, listen to each other and we are always kind!

Our Topics:

At Havannah Primary school, we have a vast curriculum which engages our children: 

• Autumn 1 - Ancient Eygptians
• Autumn 2 - Ancient Greeks 
• Spring 1 / 2 - Romans 
• Summer 1 / 2 - Anglo Saxons / Vikings

We showcase our learning in our bright, colourful and engaging classroom on a variety of displays. We use some of our displays as 'working walls' to aid us during lesson times. We utilise a range of different resources and manipulatives to assist us with our learning.
