The Hub
The Hub is our Enhanced Mainstream Provision, which means we are a mainstream primary school with additional facilities to support children. We use The Hub to try to support as many pupils as we can with SEND.
Most children with special educational needs will have their needs met in our mainstream classes. However, we also meet varying needs in The Hub too. The types of needs could be
- Cognition and Learning
- Communication and Interaction
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health
- Sensory Needs
In the mornings, we support KS2 pupils with Cognition and Learning and provide a bespoke curriculum to support these children in various ways. Then in the afternoons, we set up different groups depending on the needs of the pupils at the time. This could include - ELSA, social skills, life skills, fine motor skills, sensory, Forest schools and Lego Therapy.
Many of our staff support The Hub but the main adults you will find are:
Ms Holmes – Teacher
Mrs Taylor – Teaching Assistant and ELSA
Mrs Williams - Teaching Assistant
