Learning Celebrations 4 - July 2020
This week sees our last Learning Celebrations post of the school year, as we approach the summer holidays. Thank you to all of you for sending in your photographs of the super home learning the children have been doing over the last few weeks, your support has been very much appreciated. Thanks also to the children who have been in our Pre School, Reception, Year 1, Year 6 and key worker bubbles. You have been amazing through these difficult times! Take a look at our photos below. Have a safe, happy and restful summer!
All of the Reception children have been working very hard, both at home and in school this week. The children have been practising their set 2 sounds, applying them to their reading and writing. In Maths we have been learning about data handling, using marks that can be interpreted and explained to record our data in the form of pictograms, bar charts, Venn diagrams and tally charts. The children have been doing a variety of topic activities including: learning about summer holidays (packing a suitcase, transport and writing postcards) and creating a seaside collage. ️
The Year 1 children have been busy again this week, take a look at their home learning and fun activities in their bubbles.
Year 2 have been very busy over the last couple of weeks completing their home learning packs. They have been creating their own summer picnics and completing various transition activities, ready for their new classes in September. In maths they have looked at measuring in grams and kilograms and have revisited some of their previous learning. May I take this opportunity to thank you for all of your effort, hard work and your continued support this year.
The Year 3s have, once again, been very busy at home working and playing. Thanks for all the amazing photos.
The Year 4s have been playing maths games involving grids, looking at and working on a story called Mission Impossible and designing their new classroom.
The Year 5s have been busy baking this week. Well done Maya and Cerys.
This week the Year 6s have had their socially distanced leaving assembly where they received their dictionaries from the Rotary Club, sports awards, "Who's most likely to..." awards, a gift from PTA and were presented with a photo book of their time at Havannah. They also enjoyed a fun sports afternoon, a leavers' picnic, signing each other's shirts and, finally, a film afternoon with treats. In addition to all of this week's fun, the girls also did some pebble painting. Take a look at their photos.
