Home Schooling Celebrations: Part 7 - June 2020
The super home learning continues for many. Thanks, once again, for all your lovely photos.
In Pre School our children were welcomed back. Take a look at what they've been up to.
In Reception class some pupils returned this week but here is what they did at home last week. The children were practising their set 2 sounds, applying them to their reading and writing. They were learning tricky new red words and playing fun sound games. In Maths they were learning about 3D shapes and have really enjoyed doing lots of practical activities to support their learning. They were doing a variety of Topic activities including: learning about how and where fruit and vegetables grow, making yummy fruit kebab magic wands and reading the story of The Enormous Turnip which inspired writing a story sequence.
Year 1 had a very busy week. In Maths they have been learning all about measuring and mass. They have also been making bird feeders, learning lots more facts about garden birds and using a computer to research. They have even had time to paint rocks and enjoy the sunshine. They are getting super speedy at Set 3 sounds and using them to write sentences.
The fabulous Year 2 class have been busy measuring leaves and twigs and then completing a variety of tricky challenge questions. In literacy they wrote shape poems and presented them beautifully, using their fabulous drawing and computer skills. Year 2 have also designed and created wind chimes, they look amazing! Take a look at some of their fantastic photographs.
Yet again, another fantastic collection of photos from the Year 3s! They have been busy working on their home learning packs, baking, making bird feeders, painting pebbles, gardening and enjoying the outdoors! Well done Year 3!
The Year 4s have been writing character descriptions of famous Victorians, learning about angles within shapes and finding out about Thomas Edison and electrical safety.
The Year 5s have been completing their home learning packs, gardening, doing DIY and making bird boxes. Great effort Year 5s.
The year 6 children have continued to write their story. They were also set a task to go outside and draw birds and flowers. What an amazing bird picture from Tierney! Well done.
