Home Schooling Celebrations: Part 2 - May 2020
During lockdown, the children of Havannah continue to work hard at home. They have been sharing their pictures with us...
The Pre Schoolers were given the challenge of making bubble snakes using plastic bottles and socks!
The Reception children have been working extremely hard this week. They have been practising their set 1 & 2 sounds, applying them to their reading and writing. In maths they have been learning the number bonds to ten and practising their number formations. The children have been doing a variety of topic activities including: learning about the butterfly life cycle, using technology to design the cycle, reading the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, categorising healthy and unhealthy foods and making a healthy meal for The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Keep up the good work Reception!
Year 1 are still busy learning to count in 2s, 5s and 10s this week. In topic work they are learning all about plants and how they grow. They have been spotting butterflies and baby animals. They are getting speedy at Set 3 sounds and are using them in their topic writing.
Take a look at all of the fantastic photographs of Year 2 having fun at home! They have been busy learning lots of facts about minibeasts and then using these to write non-chronological reports. They have continued to do lots of work on fractions in maths and tackled some tricky problem solving questions. It has also been lovely to see more of their amazing artwork and to see them completing other fun activities such as making slime, drawing, writing stories and going on fun walks and bike rides.
Amazing Year 3 have been working so hard once again - they have really impressed us with their commitment but also the creative ways that they have been learning - with the help of some very talented parents!!!
The Year 4s have been learning about Queen Victoria, writing biographies about Alexander Graham Bell, tackling decimals and doing other amazing things set by their parents!
The Year 5s have continued with their topic work exploring the UK, looking at decimals in maths and working through literacy activities on Pobble365. They have been sharing pictures of their work (but not themselves!). Keep up the good work guys.
The Year 6 children are still hard at work. Isabelle, Dylan, Billy, Lucas, and Georgia have sent across their pictures to show us. We're pleased to see that they are still smiling!
